Could you give me some links to good free source codes ? I've searched on the net but haven't found anything really good. Thanks for your help. Hi all, I heard that MPEG2 and MPEG1 use same compression methods. MPEG2's MP@LL and MPEG1 are all 4:2:0, 352*288*30. But MPEG2's MP@LL is 4Mbit/s and MPEG1 is 1.5Mbit/s. Why they have different bit rates? And if I want to do 352*288*30 video compression. Shall I choose MPEG2 or MPEG1?? Any suggestions will be appreciated! Best regards, Davy

Hello all, What would you experts do if you want to perform image compression (I am thinking jpeg), on a low power board? The data is captured from an image sensor and needs to be transmitted elsewhere. Would you use a MCU bundled with a DSP or would you use two separate MCU and DSP chips? I was thinking about using a PIC with nano watt technology along with a low power DSP from TI. Or ...

Hi All, I am preparing to develop an real time audio compression codec for high quality audio signals. Due to the heavy calculation burden, I will not adopt MP3 as my compression algorithm. I get from google search engine that there is an algorithm called switched ADPCM that can code high quality audio signals. I would like to hear from some one that what switch ADPCM is or get some u...

Hi, We have G.728 speech compression algorithm for ADSP218x DSP, as per my understanging it works for only one channel. To make multiple channels work we need to use G.728 re-entry algorithm for ADSP218x DSP, where can I get this algorithm? earlier we bought G.728 speech compression algorithm from ADI Australia (SPA), the company is now closed. Thanks&Regards P.Krishna

Audio Compression Optimization: MP3, AAC, OGG This paper will give you understanding on how one can achieve better compression ratio by bit rate optimization. The key point is that our approach describes a fully automated manner of choosing the bit rate that will preserve the audio quality you define. Read this paper through and find out how to save on size when encoding your podcasts, sav...

This is a MATLAB code for DCT and DWT Compression. I tried this code with 512X512 TIF image. The DCT part worked fine, but I faced some problems with DWT compression. The output image was just blank. Any help regarding this will be highly appreciated!! inp_image=imread('c:\zenacolor.tif'); inp_imaged=double(inp_image); siz = size(inp_imaged) ; no_row = siz(1) ; no_col = siz(2) ; energ...

I'd like to find source for audio compression classes or functions in C or C++. It would be nice if it had lookahead (slight delay is OK).
