DAC8554 requires 24bits in one frame, 8 control bits and 16 data bits, and its enable pin SYNC has to be valid during transmission. SPI data length is only 16bits and I suppose its enble pin SPISTE is only valid for 16bits (please correct me if I am wrong), so does that mean I can only use McBSP to connect? If SPI can be used to connect, how to make SPISTE be valid for at least 16bits of data tran...

Recently I am studing the TIDSP. I find DSS is very common in the MCBSP program. I want to know the exact meaning of the DSS. Originally I think it is a module in the DSP/BIOS configuration, but I can't find the help in the Code Composer Studio. If anyone know the answer, please tell me.Many thanks!

Hi again everyone, I'm currently writing a driver to interface between the McBsps on my c6711DSK and the AIC23EVM Codec. Currently I am at the stage where I can do all the Control (via mcbsp1) and I can also read from the ADCs on the Codec via McBSP0. My problem though is that I cant write to the DACs, despite the fact that the the timing diagram for reading and writing to the codec via Mc...

Hi, I work with a TI DSP (C6713). I read and write data with MCBSP and EDMA (Ping Pong buffering). Now my question is how long will it take to send one Sample from the Input to the Output. The Samplefreq is 48KHz and the Buffersize 128Samples. I am not sure if the right answer is 128/48000=2.66ms or 2*128/48000=5.33ms. Thanks

Hi I am using the ezdsp F2812. I am thinking of purchasing Matlab's embedded target for TIC2000. My application involves using the GPIOs, SPI, McBSP, ADC as well as implementing FFT, filtering & other DSP algorithms. How helpful is this for code generation? Is it really worth buying it? I am sure someone on this group must have used it. Thanks. Vikram

Hello, we are using the F2812 A in MicroStar BGA package (Typ GHH) with 150MHz internal clock and all peripheral modules (except McBSP) activated. The CORE voltage is 1.9V. After about 15 minutes we measure a surface temperatur of 60?C at room temperature (23?C). We think that this is too much ! (opperating temperature of the DSP: -40?C...85?C) What temperatures have your DSPs ? ...

I'm new to the TI boards, and would like to control parameters of a DSP project external to the board. Over Serial, USB, whatever. In the software world I would use MIDI, but I see no MIDI libs for the TI boards. I see documentation on the hardware of McBSP and so on, but if I'm to do this it's going to have to be at the C level; I don't have time to write a serial driver from scratch. ...

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a pci board for TI's tms320c6416, it's critical that the board will have a PCI interface (not PC104/PCI104) I'll also need 3 McBsp to connect to ADC's an EMIF connection could also be useful... boards with onboard ADC's are also welcomed any recommendation or thoughts on the subject will be appreciated! Thanks, Shay Avivi

Hello ! I have a big problem with the dsk TMS320C6711. I must implement a MIMO (multi antenna) system, and I don't know if it's possible to transmit data in parallel. I should send Inphase and Quadrature part of a signal to 2 antennas. I have also 4 channels. (for example 4 frames of 128 bits) I think that I must use EDMA or McBSP but I don't know very well DSPs. I hope that someone can ...

Hi all: Since AC'97 codec (such as ALC100, ALC210 from realtek) is much cheaper than AD73322 for a stereo project, I'm thinking how to connect AC'97 codec to ADSP-2185 DSP. But the serial ports of ADSP-218x is not so flexible as mcbsp of TI's, it seems very hard for it to connect to AC'97 codec. Is there any references, examples to do this job? Thanks.

Folks I have been dubugging some software on a 6713 DSK using an FFT. I've isolated the problem down to either (a) running the interrupt driven McBSP codec at more than 24kHz sampling rate or (b) running the fast convolution in the main() function using the TI DSPLIB DSPF_sp_cfftr2_dit function with an FFT size greater than 256 points. The stack dump indicates that it's overflowed, and the...
