Hello, I have a problem host booting my SHARC 21161 Multiprocessor system. I get System hangs due to a HBG# hang each time I download the loader file generated with the Visual DSP environment. The same code just runs fine out of an EEPROM (I ensure to use a different bootloader for those two tasks). The ADSP 21161 Hardware Reference states that you can get those hangs writing to a non exis...

The clock-rate increase in the SHARC family has been much too slow (100MHz in 1996, 450MHz in 2008) to make SHARCs a serious contender for large- and medium-scale signal processing hardwares. For small-scale applications, BLACKFINs or similar are better sui

Hello, I am sure this is a pretty simple question, but I am having some ambiguity. I need to confirm what is happening exactly. Any information is really appreciated. So this is a Sharc DSP I am working with. Question is pretty simple. Hi everyone, For an audio project I'm starting from the setup of block based talkthru. Is there anyone who could give me more information how this program works? I'm connecting an audio input through the sharc and get the same output on the jack. So the program is working/running perfect. Another problem is where can I see my input/output variables? Can you display them in graph or window out...

Hi, I'm having a bit of trouble modifying one of the TalkThru projects that comes with SHARC 21469 EZKit from AD. I am trying to implement this signal chain: ADC (48kHz) -> SRC (48kHz -> 16kHz) -> Audio Processing -> SRC (16kHz - > 48kHz) -> DAC (48kHz) where audio is sampled at 48kHz. The signal is routed through the SRC and resampled to 16kHz. The resampled signal is then processe

There have been several papers comparing filter topologies and filter noise performance. There have also been several papers comparing fixed point to floating point processing. Has anyone examined Extended Floating Point (32 bit mantissa) versus 32 bit fixed point? Both options are available with a Sharc. FIR case: Fixed point should work very well since you have an 80 bit accumula...

Hi Jon, Given the information you provided, it seems to me that either the DSP chip itself or the PCB board are the cause of the problem, since many boards work as expected. Can you test your PCB? When you say that you "lifted the pin", did you mean that you separated the specific pin on the DSP from the PCB, and measuring the level at the pin it is still driven low? What if you check at...

I also would like to put the release under GPL license, so I'd like to find a DSP for which gcc has been ported. I first wanted to use a SHARC 212xx ou 213xx, but g21 only supports 210xx.
