Hi, I am implementing a RF modulator for video signals. I am caught in dilemma of choosing between two different implementations strategies, One that involves taking hilbert transform of the video and then modulating it while the other modulates video to IF and then bandpass it to get the VSB using an appropriate BPfilter. For last few days, I have been trying to collect information reg...

Hi, I'm working on a robot vision system for a helicopter (http:// www.rctoys.com/rc-toys-and-parts/DF-TSU/INDUSTRIAL.html) at university. I've just seen for the first time some video captured from the aircraft's onboard camera. The camera itself is not stabilised and rather small, the resolution is about 500 lines. The recorded video was sent from the aircraft to an analogue receiver...

Hi, Is there any difference in encoding of an interlaced video in the following 2 ways: 1. just considering it as a progressive video and doing a progressive encoding. 2. doing a frame encoding. Again, field encoding is just matching fields instead of full frames, of an interlaced video, during motion estimation. Is that a correct explanation I am having? Please correct me if I am wron...

Hello, I am trying the examples that came with DM642 evaluation board, and the video drivers are working fine if i want to display a D1 frame into a monitor. I am trying to program the saa7105 video encoder to perform scaling from CIF to D1. Did anybody accomplish this task? Can anybody tell me which registers do we have to change in order to perform this? I do know that we have to change...

Hello. I am new to DSP, even more - i am not even in DSP theme at the moment. Problem is - i need to transcode video from 12mbps MPEG2 to any other format, that will need less bps. In realtime. For example i can downscale the video (from FullHD to 640x360), or i can transcode to H.264 My main ARM-based CPU has insufficient processing power to do this in realtime. So i need external IC, that wil...

Just posted a video. It's my first real effort and, as videos go, rough as a cob -- but I think the information is solid. I have a 15-minute time limit -- trying to fit an informative video into that is kind of like explaining General Relativity with a book of haiku. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2elEXcv0AV8 YouTube time limit complex subject, 15 minutes very hard. -- Tim ...

I apologize, I am a video signal processing newbie. I am using a NI 1410 board to capture images from an interlaced RS-170 video source. When the images are captured, the odd field is about 3% brighter than the even field. The noise is also higher in the odd field. Has anyone experienced this? Could it have something to do with the clamp timing? Is it possible that interference on th...

Hi, I need to read in a sequence of raw video file (300 frames, 400MB), and perform video encoding on the C6000 dsp board for benchmarking with known sequences. I tried using 'fopen' and 'fread' to read/encode frame by frame, however the encoding is far too slow. 10 seconds of video took me hours to encode which should not be the case. Is this mainly due to the file I/O thru JTAG? (as i read...
