Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone could give me their insight to this problem. I am trying to understand how to use a bandpass filter in butter to pass only a certain band of frequency. This works for a simple cosine with one frequency, but with a summation of cosines.. dt=.001; %sampling rate Fs=1/dt; %sampling freq HalfFs=Fs/2; t=-10:dt:10; m=cos(2*pi*49*t)+cos(2*pi*50*t); ...

I have a wav file (biomedical signal) that is believed to be corrupted by AC line noise; I have been asked to extract the (nominal) 60 Hz component so that it can be further examined (idea is to see if power line frequency variations are partly responsible for causing problems). The original signal was sampled at 8KHz. I've decimated and bandpass filtered the signal around 59-61 Hz, but get a v...

hi, how can i generate an impulse train(time domain of period T) in matlab whose fourier transform gives me the same impulses of period 2?/T... actually i have generated an impulse train(of limited length) in time domain, but when i take its FFT, the result gives me a discrete impulse of high amplitude at t=zero and zero for all other values. infact m trying to do imulse train sa...

hi everybody, I don't know much about Matlab. I have just started working on matlab. Now I want to design a filter using remez algorithm. I have my own freq. response; specified freq. response is not standard lowpass, highpass, bandpass or bandstop. Basically it is lowpass but its band pass region is a parabolic curve. So I was taking inverse fft of the freq spectre and then I was applying windo...

Hi All, I am attempting a spectral transformation for FIR filters. My intention is to convert Low Pass FIR filters to Multiband (Bandstop or Bandpass) FIR filters. I am aware that such transforms exist for IIR filters and that there are APIs in Matlab like lp2bs and lp2bp that do this. 1. Are similar transforms possible for FIR filters ?? 2. If YES, what is the method used ?? 3. Any Mat...

hello and good day ! A pass band receiver system will process modulated signal , i.e. there iz RF stage , then IF stage and Baseband (BB) stage. I want to model LPF instead of BPF in RF and IF stage i.e. model a LPF from a BPF, which gives the same output as passband system gives. I tackle this problem that i take hilbert transform to retain only positive frequencies and...

Hello, I need to design a bandpass butterworth and kaiser window filter. But the catch is, i cannot use any of the inbuilt matlab functions. Till now I have been able to design low pass prototypes for both. But I am having trouble frequency translating it to the required band. My digital frequency band to be passed is 0.034 to 0.057. I tried multiplying the low pass with a sinc and a...
