Hi, I'm writing assembly code for the DSP56371 but find that execution of my do loops loop counts are intermittently corrupted. I'm running the do loop code in the background, have several isr s running in the foreground and my stack has been extended into RAM. I've debug code to break when the loop count is out of range and when that happens, I see that the it has assumed a value equal to or at...

Hi, me and my research group are working towards developing a hybrid vehicle, where the electric powertrain is driven by a 56F8323 Freescale DSC. We frequently have to reprogram the DSC, and once in about ten or twenty reprograms the DSC would stop working and give "Core not responding" and "Failed to write to FLASH" errors; at this point the only remedy is to replace the DSC (DSC fried)....

Hi all, I have run in to memory problem (internal data memory (x- and y-) as well as p-mem), I have flash memory space that I can use. My application is monolithic in terms of program memory, I thought I would separate out functional blocks and overlay p-mem, and bring in functional blocks program memory from flash to p-mem. I am not sure if this can be done. If it can be done can anyone poin...

Hi to all, I was looking at a piece of code available on the net to compute log2(x) for any number x between 2^-23 and 1. This code is a macro included in the file called LOG2NRM.ASM: log2nrm macro ; ; This program calculates the base 2 logarithm of an unnormalized ; 24 bit fraction "x" in register A and returns a scaled fraction ; "y" in register A. ; ; y...

Hi all, I'm working with this development board and the DSP56366 daughterboard for a senior project. This is my first time working with a DSP kit, and while I know I'm a beginner, I was expecting a lot more clarity and help in the what little documentation there is. I've obtained the passthru code from a helpful user on this forum already, and have the following software: Symphony Studio Su...

Our product is medium voltage (4160V) variable frequency drive. It consists of 9~24 power cells depending on the power level of the load. Each power cell has a control board with a DSP56F807 and an Altera EPLD on it. The DSP talks to the EPLD via SPI port and the EPLD talks to a master control board via a fiber optic cable. The drives that we have DSP watch-dogged is used in a coal po...

I have a Freescale/Motorola DSPAUDIOEVM board, a 56362 daughter board and a copy of the Suite56 tool set. What I am looking for is any source code examples, preferably just passthru source code that I can use as a starting point. Most eval boards come with some minimal functional project that allows you to build and run known working code, if only to test the development environment. This board...
