Good day! I'm supposed to do some experiments on this particular wideband speech coder that we're developing at our laboratory. I'm supposed to verify this certain paper dealing with the exploitation of residual redundancies of a particular source coder's bitstream. I'd like to verify the paper first by using it on standard MELP and comparing my results with the results on the paper. However...

Hi all, I am trying to implement the G.722.1 codec and the extension G.722.1 Annexe C on MATLAB. To do so, I am using the following paper: "From ITU-T G.722.1 to ITU-T G.722.1 Annex C: A New Low-Complexity 14kHz Bandwidth Audio Coding Standard" by Minjie Xie, David Lindbergh and Peter Chu. The questions I have are in the process of categorisation: 1. In the relation Nb = total bits per f...

Hi, all: Does someone of this group have this paper: "The Government Standard Linear Predictive Coding Algorithm: LPC-10". Thomas E. Tremain. Speech Technology Magazine, April 1982, p. 40-49 ? I am reading some papers on Linear Prediction Coding of speech signal these days. I think the FS-1015 (LPC-10) is quite suitable for me to understand the pricipal principle of LPC, but the L...

Thanks Dejun. By the way, so if I pack the actual encoded bits on a per fra= me basis and save it as a .amr file, then would any player that plays 3GPP = format audio files be able to play them? I plan to try this out anyway, but= just wanted to know if the file would be recognized as a 3GPP content or i= s there some other processing that is done on this before it can be recogni= zed and pl...

Hi All, I have implemented a 10th order Recursive Least Squares filter on Matlab for speech and am comparing the weights thus obtained with the weights using the LPC function. Then I am comparing the speech quality using PESQ MOS values for various speech files. I run my RLS for lambda=1 (forgetting factor) and delta=.02 (regularization factor), which gives the best performance. ...

I am implementing a Jitter buffer for VOIP application. We use AMR as speech vocoder. I need to throw away some packets. I would like to throw packetes that have low energy content. the vocoder code is not mine so I can't do the full decoding to find out the result enegry of the frame. Is there a gain decoded in the amr packet that I can get quick estimation of the frame energy? I lo...

Hello; I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share or direct me towards some Java or C code on how to convert from Linear Prediction Coefficients to Line Spectral Frequencies and vice versa. I am able to generate the LP coefficients using the Levinson algorithm, but am looking for some help to get to LS frequencies. Thanks. Regards, Ray
