Yes we are talking about the same thing.

I am sorry I do not have any specific information regarding TI's
implementation of JTAG, besides experiences from daily use for
debugging and programming purposes. I have just two DSP's (one from
the TMS320F24xx series with IR = 8, and already mentioned F28335 with
IR=38) on one XDS510 compatible emulator, and the emulator drivers
needed to know how to split whole IR chain.

From what have I heard you might be able to get more info on TI's JTAG
if you sign a NDA with TI. Of course they have to consider you worthy
enough.

I just want to confirm that we are talking about the length of the JTAG
TAP instruction register (IR) for the TI DSP TMS320F28335, correct? Also,
is there any other info you could share with me (or direct me to) regarding
JTAG operation on TI DSPs? Seems that TI is a bit squirrely about this
topic.
