The main aim of "Digital Signal Processing and Applications with the TMS320C6713 and TMS320C6416 DSK" is to teach/illustrate digital signal processing concepts using practical, hands-on, real-time example programs in order to process analogue audio frequency signals (the C6713 and C6416 DSKs have audio codecs by way of analogue i/o.) Most of the example programs are written in C and therefore much of the code in a particular example is not specific to a particular processor. Having said that, the architectures of the C6713 and C6416 are described and some assembly language example programs are included in the book. The second edition of the book contains quite a few more example programs than the first edition and is expanded particularly with respect to analogue i/o, IIR filters, FFT, adaptive filters, and the use of DSP/BIOS. Where errors were found in example programs in the first edition of the book, these have been corrected. The project files provided with the second edition, and the detailed instructions on how to install and run the example programs, are compatible with version 3 of Code Composer. That is not the case with the first edition, although I've seen the steps/modifications necessary to use the first edition with version 3 of Code Composer discussed on the internet (or I could advise.) Hope this helps.

All that you need to program the 6713 are the original 6713 manuals and datasheets downloadable from TI web site. Somebody's interpretations of the original documents only create a mess and confusion. Vladimir Vassilevsky DSP and Mixed Signal Design Consultant http://www.abvolt.com

Hello, I want to learn to use Texas Instruments DSP c6713 and I have heard
that Dr. Rulph Chassaing's book on it is best (DSP with applications to
c6713 & c6416)

Now, my question is that, there ar two editions of the book

First one is written by Dr. Chassaing himself

Second edition is written by another author after Dr. Chassaing's death,
using excerpts from the first edition.

The author claims that the second edition is more narrative than the
first. So I ask to tell me about their experience on using the books as I
can only buy one

So advise
