the split multistage vq (smvq) is probably one of the best methods, it
is implemented in the g.722.2 wideband codec (amr-wb), but carefull
with the patents. you can find all the details in the ITU-T
recommandations.

Hi all!

Does anyone know whats the latest & greatest LSF quantizer available for wideband speech coding? :-)
For example, whats the minimum number bits/frame required for quantizing a 16-th order LPC operating at 16-kHz sampling?

If anyone is aware of any nice references please let me know.
