Is this a WinXP PC? If so suggest to try this link:

The DirectDSP software also uses parallel port, but it uses EPP mode and is
optimized, so it should be a lot faster
than the old TI software that came with the DSK C6711 (6 min for 500 kbytes
sounds like a Turtle). My recollection is
that the host-hpi DLL that TI shipped out with the DSK C6711 for some reason did
a lot of retries.
