Ah! A question I can answer! Put all the group names -- there should be only a few -- in the header, on separate lines if available, or separated ny a comma and a space. The message to which I reply is cross posted to comp.graphics.algorithms and comp.dsp. You must have done something right. Hi all,

I posted this to comp.comression but perhaps some one here can also help me.

I am working on a project related to 3D modelling, and need some simple
algorithm to transmit 3D meshes to cell phones. As 3D meshes have quite
large data and cell phone's CPU is not as powerful as that of a PC, the
compression algorithm should be of very low computational complexity. I am
asked to make the following surveys:

(1) Are there any techniques for 3D compression with low computational
complexity in conventional methods?

(2) How low the computational complexity should be for cell phones. How many
steps, how many operations are allowed in a unit time. For example, how
simple a compression algorithm should be?

(3) What are conventional methods for video or image compression for cell
phones.

I shall highly appreciate any help in this regard. If possible please give
some pointers to survey papers, tutorials or books etc.

Please also tell me how to "cross post" a message to more than one groups in
Outlook Express.

With best regards,
Ishtiaq.
