Not knowing what area of telecom you're interested in -- speech coding?

techniques? VoIP? -- I suggest to choose a general area then start Googling
for
MATLAB projects in that area. Whatever you come up with, as long as you can
implement (or simulate with) baseband audio in/out, you should be able to
incorporate
the DSK C6713.
