As far as I remember it can save the decoded MPEG frames as raw YUV images.

Hi.

Does anyone know whether the following is available?

1.  software program that reads and plays DVDs and has the following capability

    a.  single step through the video on a frame by frame basis
    b.  do a frame capture and write it to a file in a standard video format
        like PPM

1.  software program that reads and plays MPEGs and has the following capability

    a.  single step through the video on a frame by frame basis
    b.  do a frame capture and write it to a file in a standard video format
        like PPM
