Hi Vladimir, Runosuke was the source of the famous Japanese film 'Rashomon'. I don't recall if I saw that film, but I did see the American version of the film titled: 'The Outrage', with Paul Newman. What a fantastic film about truth, illusion, and self delusion. Everyone should watch The Outrage. [-Rick-]

and in 2001-2008, the nation's despot and idiot were one and the same. and the idiot/despot was dangerous in any sense. the despot is an idiot! the despot is an idiot! (a.k.a. "the king is a fink!") -- r b-j rbj@audioimagination.com "Imagination is more important than knowledge."

Hi Tim, Thinking about your post, I'll quote the quiet, spooky, whispering words of Hannibal Lecter, "That was a gooood." It always amazes me when some knucklehead posts a message like, "I'm doing something, but I won't tell you what it is. What I'm doing doesn't work. Help me." Can ya' imagine a guy showing up in the doorway of your office? You look up at him. You have no idea who this dipwad is. Then he says, "I'm trying to process a signal. But it's not working. Help me." Courtesy and manners are important. Jerry Avins and I have been preaching this for years. [-Rick-]

The comment was pertinent. If you look at the threads where the original poster seems to be getting substantive help, it's where they ask questions that can be answered, in fields that pertain to DSP. Genetic algorithms and MATLAB programming are both pretty tangential to the core content of DSP, and "I am doing some vague, unspecified project in (XYZ), written in MATLAB, please help" tempts one to answer with equal precision and volubility. So, to echo your level of detail and engagement, here's your answer. The process is an easy, three-step one: Step 1: Learn genetic algorithm theory. Step 2: Learn how to program in MATLAB. Step 3: Put what you learned in steps 1 and 2 together. Now, if, in the course of learning or implementing genetic algorithms, you have a _specific_ question about a _specific_ item, don't hesitate to ask -- I don't happen to be a genetic algorithm expert, but there are some folks on the group who do seem to have some knowledge in this domain, and would help _IF_ you mentioned specifics. -- My liberal friends think I'm a conservative kook.
