If you have CodeWarrior for DSP56800 installed, you can find the
documentation about "Connecting via the Suite56 Parallel Port Command Converter
Module and DSP568xx EVM board" in the Target DSP56800 manual > Chapter
Getting Started.

I
could not find information on the Metrowerks web site that confirmed the
CodeWarrior DSP56800 tools really work with the Suite56 parallel port/JTAG
converter.
So, if anyone actually has actually tried to use this combination of tools I would appreciate hearing about your
experiences.

Mike,
CodeWarrior for DSP56800 works with the "Suite56 Parallel Port
Command Converter". The way that you connect to the board is you
would connect the 25-pin male connector at one end of a parallel
port cable to the 25-pin connector on your computer. Connect the 25-
pin female connector at the other end of the parallel port cable to
the 25-pin male connector on the Suite56 Parallel Port Command
Converter module. Locate the 14-pin ribbon cable hanging from the
Suite56 Parallel Port Command Converter module. Connect the 14-pin
female connector of the ribbon cable to the 14-pin JTAG
male connector on the DSP568xxEVM board. Ensure that the red stripe
on the ribbon cable corresponds to pin 1 on the DSP568xxEVM card.
I hope that this information helps.

Irene

I would like some confirmation concerning the compatibility
of the CodeWarrior DSP56800 tools and the Motorola
"Suite56 Parallel Port Command Converter" and the
suggested 14 pin JTAG connector wiring described in
the Parallel Port Command Converter document.
I could not find information on the Metrowerks web site
that confirmed the CodeWarrior DSP56800 tools
really work with the Suite56 parallel port/JTAG converter.
So, if anyone actually has actually tried to use this
combination of tools I would appreciate hearing about
your experiences.
