Hi, ERL == echo return loss == ratio of sent energy to echo energy (or the other way around, according to state) ERLE == echo return loss enhancement == the increase in the ERL when you switch the echo canceller on. You might have a 15dB loss, and when you turn on the canceller and it becomes 45dB. So, your ERL is 15dB without the canceller, and 45dB with the canceller. The canceller gives you an ERLE of 30dB. The "taste" part just means you might see a minus sign or you might not. If its a loss, I think it should be positive. Some people make it negative.
