You try to save samples to memory and your program crashes (no audio)? Maybe
you have a bad pointer, write over the
top of some code, write beyond the length of an array, or other typical C
beginning programmer bug.
I would say you have a bug and you need to do some step-by-step debugging.
First try to save just *one* sample
without crashing, then go from there.
