Yes, it could be. Is there a signal or pin for the multiplex that you can check
with a dig scope? If so this would
be a good thing to do -- see if the value changes when the Sp02 daughtercard is
plugged in.
If that is the reason, then you can control the multiplex pin via software. Set
for LCD when needed, set for SpO2
when needed.
