Mr. Prince,

In regards to the RAM, you shouldn't use a RAM with more address pins than you have, as you'll just be wasting capacity. You can get 512Mb devices on Digikey that only need 13 address lines; that is a huge amount of RAM for a C55x. If you really need more you can use multiple RAM chips on different chip selects.

Hi everyone! I'm an engineer student in my final year, and I want to design a digital guitar effect processor for my license project. I would use a TMS320VC5507 DSP with PCM3060 for data conversion and processing. A 16bit SDRAM for sound looper, and PIC based user interface via I2C.
I have some trouble wiring up the CODEC and the RAM to the DSP.
I've read the documentations regarding McBSP and I2S, but it's still somewhat unclear. I want to use the CODEC synchronously with ADC slave and DAC master. I connect Din to DX0, Dout to DR0, LRCLK1/2 to FCLKX0/R0, BCLK1/2 to CLKX0/R0, but then where to connect SCLK1/2 ? Or should I wire LRCLK1/2 and BCLK1/2 to GPIO-s both in master mode, and connect SCLK1/2 to CLKR0 ?
