dear barry,
i`m running a c6711-dsk on Win2k, without any problems. have you
installed the last servicepack (sp4) ?
hmmmm, you can change the settings for your parallel port interface to
AT and PS/2 ?? sorry, but these are things which have nothing to do with
the parallel interface..... EPP/SPP and ECP are different protocols for
different devices like printer, scanner, etc.....
perhabs change the bios on default settings and take a look at the
settings for the lpt1-interface in the win2k-devicemanager. on my system
there are "ECP-Printerconnection: IRQ 3, IO 0378-037F, 0778-077A"
hope this helps........
sincerely,

I've also tried setting the BIOS to AT, PS/2 and ECP, and I've
selected SPP in cc_setup, and I'm still having no luck. Has anyone
here managed to get CCS to work on Win2k? I'm really at the end of my
tether with this, I might just format this PC tomorrow, and put
Windows NT on it.

Hi,
I got CSS to work on an NT machine first time, but I cant seem to get
it working on a Windows 2000 machine.
My first problem was with the ports (LPT1). Even when I change the
BIOS to EPP 378H, I was still seeing ECP under the ports section of
the device manager. Anyway, I deleted this driver and installed a
parallel port driver and reconfigured the port, and now I see LPT1
under the ports section.
Unfortunately I still cant get CSS to work. I ran the ti port
utilities ( Configure and Test ports) and I see what I see on my NT
machine. I then power off and on the board and run the hardware reset,
as I do when on NT. But when I run CSS, I see a message something like
(which I dont see on NT) -
***
C6x11 DSK (Texas Instruments)/CPU:
The Startup GEL file was specified in the Startup Program for this
processor, and will be used instead of the one specified on the
command line.
***
Then after a few seconds I get the error message -
***
Failed Softwere Reset:
Cannot reset the processor
Exit - Retry - Cancel
***
I click Retry, and I then get -
***
Trouble Writing Target CPU memory:
Processor accessing not ready memory at 0x1800000
Can't Initialize Target CPU
This is a TI USCIF adapter library {Sourceless EPK] error.
POD_ERR_MAP1 <-701>
This error resulted from the first attemp to access the CPU hardware.
The status from the DSK was erroneous. THe most common causes of this
problem are:
1. No power to the DSK
2. THe cable is disconnected from the parallel port
3. THe DSK is locked up and requires a power cycle
I/O port = 378
***
I also tried running cc_setup and importing EPP 378H, just before I
ran CSS. When I ran CSS this time I again got errors, I clicked ignore
and CSS opened. I then ran the GEL file "Check DSK". I saw the lights
flash on the DSK, but then got the message -
***
Trouble Writing to CPU memory:
Timeout on Target Processor
Please check cabling or multi-processor configuration
It is recommended to RESET EMULATOR. This will disconnect each target,
perform an emulation reset, and then reconnect each target.
Reset Emulator - Cancel
***
I'm using the C6711 DSK. Any suggestion as to how I figure out what
the problem is?
Thanks in advance,
Barry.
