Hello,

I am new to JTAG/Flash and my first project is to upload an already
created file (.mhx, I think is the same as .s) to a DSP56F807 chip. So I
try example first.

I have breadboarded a parallel port command converter and attached it to
my xp computer.

Code Warrior (Special-DSC56800E v8.3) was downloaded and installed. My
chip is on a pcb on a fixture with pogo pins (JTAG/Flash) and powered.

I have the Code Warrior Connection Server running (CCS.exe) with the
debugger=CCS 56800E Protocol Plugin with the connection type=CCS Remote
Connection.(I'm not sure this is correct. I wanted to use USB TAP
originally but found that the chip would not work with this TAP).

Since my port card is addressed as 0xD000, I "delete all", "config cc
lpt:0xD000", then save configuration.

I then run from my ...flash_jtag_loader_80x_82x>flash_over_jtag.exe
flash807.cfg test807.s -p0xD000

My result is:

Target chip refused to enter Debug mode!
The target was reset, the application is running

There is something wrong here. I believe I am supposed to be getting a
Debug Request status:0xd, succeed on Enable OnCE, then place target chip
into debug mode.

Does anyone know what 0x9 instead of 0xd is telling me?

Appreciate any feedback through my steps and flag any errors....

Thanks,
Paul
