Well if you're interfacing to a video decoder or encoder, like the TI TVP5150, it sure makes it easier. -- % Randy Yates % "Maybe one day I'll feel her cold embrace, %% Fuquay-Varina, NC % and kiss her interface, %%% 919-577-9882 % til then, I'll leave her alone." %%%% <yates@ieee.org> % 'Yours Truly, 2095', *Time*, ELO http://home.earthlink.net/~yatescr

Thanks , overlooked that one, its actually on one of the boards we get access to in a few weeks. Don't necessarily need video ports(most output to network) but for some things would be helpful. Alex

Hey Alex,

I didn't see a video port on the 6455 or 6416. However, the DM642 does
have three. This probably makes it a more suitable video processor.

Having to do a comparison and presentation on available high end chips and
technologies for video / sensor networks.
Have to process the video / sensor data at sensor location to minimise
network traffic.

Already working with Ti TMS320C6713(Lyrtech and DSK) , C6711DSK and Cradle
CT3400 chips.
Getting access to a C6455 device.

Have to get a list together with basic feature set , ease of programmability
etc
for higher end dsps.

Have I missed any chips that I should have a look at ?

The boards/platforms we have/looking at use a dsp + soc or dsp + soc +
video processor chip
or dsp + fpga + soc.
soc for networking stuff
dsp for processing sensor data

Thank you
