If your 'boot mode' is correct during reset, the problem may be
that your pushbutton is not properly debounced. If the DSP is "seeing"
multiple pulses of incorrect minimum width and/or excessive frequency it may
have problems. When a button switch is pushed and/or released, it is not
uncommon to see several 'noise pulses'. Your switch should go
into a circuit that will provide a single pulse that exceeds TI's min pulse
width spec [I suggest exceeding it by a factor of 2].

hm... I may be totally wrong, but what is the state of your "boot mode"
selection pins (BEA[19:18]) while you're pushing that reset button?
