Daniel, If you want to take proper care of your board then you should place it on a properly grounded antistatic mat. Wear a wrist strap that is also grounded. This is the best way in which you handle ESD (electrostatic discharge) sensitive devices. To the bare minimum I would recommend that before touching the DSP kit you ground yourself ( by touching a metal door frame or touching the chasis of your comp or touching anything that will discharge your charge ) It is tough to answer your question and it depends how much risk you wanna take .. I didnt use electro-static mat or anything just grounded myself so that I dont have charge .. but then again it just depends on you where you want to draw that line. :-) I dont think this email helped u but then its just a pointer to bare minimum..
