The impulse response of a FIR filter is basically a sinc signal sampled

at sampling period T until the length of the filter. Hk is the complex

value at each of the path delay specified by the user. Since we need to

get a Rayleigh distribution a pair of ( for the real and imaginary parts

)white guassian noise source is passed through a Doppler shaping filter

( if required ) and the resulting values for each path delay is the

impulse response of the channel which can be convolved with the

modulator output to simulate the channel effects

I am modelling a multipath rayleigh channel using matlab function

Rayleighchan.

This function models the channel as a FIR filter. You can find the

algorithm in the matlab help rayleighchan page or look at the document

attached.

Can anybody help me understand the algorithm? why is the channel

modelled as a sum of sinc?
