Absolutely! It's written on the outside jacket The ISBN is 0-07-286546-6, Component of ISBN 0-07-304837-2 (maybe when it includes the CD?) One interesting note is that the copyright is 2006. I'm fairly sure that my DeLorean is missing a flux capacitor, so I don't understand how I could have obtained the book. Was it used or new? Are you sure it's not 2e? I don't see the 3e at either Booksamillion or Amazon, and Booksamillion is selling 2e for $250! -- % Randy Yates % "...the answer lies within your soul %% Fuquay-Varina, NC % 'cause no one knows which side %%% 919-577-9882 % the coin will fall." %%%% <yates@ieee.org> % 'Big Wheels', *Out of the Blue*, ELO http://home.earthlink.net/~yatescr

I agree 100 percent. Mitra seems to cover a lot of important topics well. It's now one of my top DSP books, behind Proakis/Manolakis only. Apparently they have recently begun reprinting the 2nd edition. When I bought the book about a year ago, new was not available. At $250 it is quite expensive, though! --Randy

Digital Signal Processing by Sanjit K. Mitra has a lot of info on filter structures, including some lattice structures. I found this book at my local university. This is a relatively new book (or at least a new edition). I think its one of the better books I've seen (I have about 50 DSP books) -- Al Clark Danville Signal Processing, Inc. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Purveyors of Fine DSP Hardware and other Cool Stuff Available at http://www.danvillesignal.com

Thankyou both, that does help a lot. Randy I will check out your code later
- perfect, matlab and C :-)

RBJ, thanks, I will look into the Orfanidis Paper. I love the Orfanidis
books, really readable, understandable and come with good examples, so
hopefully this paper will be similar.

Cheers,
David

in the latest JAES (November) Orfanidis did a treatise for IIR EQ filters that included Ladder implementations. dunno if that helps or not. -- r b-j rbj@audioimagination.com "Imagination is more important than knowledge."

Hi David,

We had a problem involving 2nd-order IIR lattice filters for
homework in our DSP class. Here's what I handed in:

Dear List,

I'm looking to convert my second order Direct Form IIR filter structure
over to an equivalent second order Lattice Ladder filter structure. Does
anyone know of a good reference or link which details how to implement
such a beast?

Thanks for any information.

Best Regards,
