Thanks for the responses. I am on hold right now to TI support trying to get to the bottom of this question. Ah, good timing. The offical word from TI support is that there is NO limitation to CCS 2.21 as far as code size. The only limitation is that you can not upgrade to CCS 3.0.

As far as the DSK being required as a dongle, is this true for using the simulators? I ran the CCS 2.21 Setup tool and configured the target as Simulator vs the DSK hardware and CCS booted fine.

thanks for the help.

--- Hi there,

As far as I am aware the code size restriction is not prohibitive, if its
even there at all. However the main restriction is that CCS will not work
without the DSK being switched on and the USB plugged in.

Hi,

this question has been up some time ago. IIRC there is no limitation. At
least I (CCS 2.20/DSK6713) have not reached it. You may try the archiv
about it.

Hi folks, I attended the TI Developers Conference last week and picked up the C6713 DSK. This included the DSK version of CCStudio 2.21. I was told at one of the workshops that this version of CCStudio was limited in size of executables that could be produced. My question:

What are the limitations that exist in version 2.21 of CCStudio that is included in the DSK as compared to the separately purchased version?

Thanks
