I can only guess. The host program is looking for a suitable parallel
port on the host machine, and found one that corresponds to LPT1, but
not EPP capable. That's an IEEE 1284 spec. For a fuller explanation, see

It says your computer has only 1 parallel port, at IO address 378, which is
typical, and that it functions as a standard parallel port (SPP), but not an
extended parallel port (EPP). If your computer isn't too old, you can
probably change the parallel port mode support in the BIOS setup.
