hi all,

actually i'm still newbie here compare to all of you.
i have a question about peakvue.is there anyone have ever try to simulate for showing peakvue measurement in MATLAB?

i think the process can be describe as:

1. sampling (we choose Fmax as a limit to show in freq domain and the sampling freq will be automatically determined 2.56*Fmax)

2. pass the signal through high pass filter (the High pass filter must equal or higher than Fmax) especially i still CONFUSE in this step. does it mean that i will get nothing if i want to check in frequency before HPF setting??

3. rectify the signal half/full (i think it just simply like make all value in absolute)

4. amplify the signal by using log amplifier

5. find peak around the certain time block in time domain (time block is the inverse of (2.56*Fmax)) and plot it both in time and frequency domain (by using FFT of course).
"this is also become my second consideration because i think the data will be reduce to certain peak value and how can i plot the signal into the same axes with the number of data is lower than before??????"

let's suppose this problem:

i wanna check bearing which rotate at 900 rpm, especially the BPFI in 90 Hz.

the setting Fmax MUST 4*Fmax = 360 Hz and the signal must be filter by using HPF in 1000 Hz. (this is strange that will i get something if i want to compute it in MATLAB???
i also consider to use butter high pass filter and first i must determine "f nyq = f cut off/ (f sampling/2)".

for the next confuseness, how can i plot the data like the 5th step i describe.

is there someone can help me to solve this problem?????

i think "peakvue" is similar to "enveloping method" that usually applied to bearing analysis but i still don't know for sure because "enveloping method" using Hilbert transform or should i use Hilbert also for peakvue measurement in MATLAB
hope someone can help me as soon as possible

thank you
