From what I've seen the ETSI UMTS channel model is a model for mobile
communication channels. Dont you think that it may be a too complicated
model? I think that the sattelite channel is much simpler.
Anyway, is there a matlab code available for this channel model?
How can I get it? (I really dont want to waste time on building it
myself).

how about ETSI-UMTS CHANNEL MODEL.
which is for man.
does it fit in your scenario, check that bcoz one guy who was working
in this field worked on some channel models in his simulation.....

Hi Mike, Thanks! I thought that it may be the case but I wasnt sure (I'm a rookie in this field). I thought that maybe there are some nonlinear phenomena associtated with this channel. Moshe

Hi Moshe - it will depend on your receive antenna and how it is to be used. Generally DVB-S mass-production receivers are for VSATs with directional antennas, are stationary and of fixed alignment - pointing roughly at the satellite. If this is the case then an AWGN channel model is often adequate. Best of Luck - Mike

Hi,

I'm currently develop a DVB-S2 demodulator, and I want to know how to get
the channel model (written in matlab or c etc.).
I've been told that the standart organization (i.e., ETSI on my case)
may supply something like that, but unfortunatley I've could not find it.
Please help me! :)

Moshe.
