Does your board has support for external peripheral,
if yes then there might be a jumper setting on DSK
that you will have to check.
Also, check DSP/BIOS->RTA pannel you have SWI enable
and global(??) enable.

The output signal conditioning on that DSK is sutiable to drive a
600 ohm load. However, you may need to use an amplified speaker,
i.e., PC external speaker kit, to hear anything on that output.
