I know that this sounds illogical, but check your
power supply voltage coming into the board [+5v]. I
have seen this cause problems on *some* boards [and
work on others].

This may be 'sort of' good news. Your interface is
not 'totally toast'. The 'SMC chip' appears to have
initialized correctly. From the error message it
looks like a reset was taking place and the results
were incorrect. I believe that this message refers to
the SMC34C60 pin 43 [PPC_TBC_RST] not toggling.

Hi

I've been using a TMS320C6211 DSK starter kit, and have communicatin with it using the parallel port, which was correctly configured.

After accidentally connecting the parallel lead whilst the power was on to the dsp, I now get the following error when trying to connect to the DSP using CCS.

POD_ERR_RESET <-700>
Error detected during reset

Also, when i run dsk6x11.bat, the test fails. I've tried connecting a seperate, identical DSK board that i have, and that passes.

It seems i've damaged the parallel interface on the DSK starter kit board.

The board self test runs ok, and the reset light goes off a second after connecting the power.

Any advice on what's likely to be damaged? I can easily change a chip on the board if they're available.

Thanks
Andy
