i recommend AES.  there are other journals like Computer Music Journal
(MIT Press), that sometimes has stuff on synthesis/processing.  there
is an organization called ICMA that is somehow affiliated, i think:

there is a computer music conference that is, i believe, also

there is also a very good (albeit sometimes inactive) mailing list
