Subject: [c6x] using Mcbsp as UART ?

Hi all
I'd like to use Mcbsp of TMS320C6713 as UART. I found some information in the application note spra633b.pdf of TI and it seems difficult.
If anyone has use it, please tell me yours comments. Is It a good method or bad method ? etc...

1. For details, please refer to the archives for several discussions on the topic.
2. If you have 'spare MIPS' and do not need high speed receive, it can work ok for many apps. If the DSP is mostly/only transmitting, it can be very useful - again, depending on your application/use.

Hi,

I'm using it for a remote control. It spares you an external UART, but
it costs you some internal resources (MCBSP-Pin, Time, Code, Data ...).
It works for me. I had some problems there was a bug in the spra but I
think it is fixed in Rev. B
