Steven,

Many thanks for your help.
According to your suggestions, we added user 'Everyone' (so far we've
been using 'Users' instead) to the permissions of the 'Texas
Instruments' folder under 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software'. Unfortunately,
this did not solve my problem. Did I misinterpret your advice in some
way?

Roland

I had the same problem which was cured by using Regedit to assign 'Texas
Instrument' permissions to 'everyone'.

Hopefully, someone knowledgeable within TI can tell me why the following
dialogs come up in my Windows XP system when I try opening a CCS 3.1
project that uses DSB/BIOS:

Dialog Title:
"Project Update"

Dialog Text:
"CRegistryInfo::GetSABiosRegKey() could not find BIOS registry
entries." When this first dialog is closed by clicking its only OK button, another
dialog appears:

Dialog Title:
"Project Update"

Dialog Text:
"The project you are opening is based upon an older CDB
configuration
file which must be converted to the new TConf Script (TCF) format.

THIS HAS TO BE DONE IN ORDER TO EDIT THE
CONFIGURATION AND BUILD SUCCESSFULLY.

Please see the "Getting Started Guide" in the installation
directory of the
version of DSP/BIOS you are using for the steps to perform this
conversation." When this second dialog is closed by clicking its only OK button, the
project gets loaded into CCS and can be built, loaded into target, and
run. It does run fine, but all DSP/BIOS related debug windows like, for
instance, CPU Load Graph, can not be opened. When I try to do so, a
dialog comes up:

Dialog Title:
"DSP/BIOS"

Dialog Text:
"Unknown error. A required library is not loaded: vbd:dll"
This phenomena only happens if I'm logged into Windows XP as a standard
user (which I normally have to do). If I'm logged in as an Administrator
the problem does not occur at all! Since someone has written these
dialogs, there surely must be some information available within TI
regarding the reasons when these dialogs get triggered.

Many thanks for helping,
Roland
