I found this document to be very usefull. http://www.bksv.com/pdf/bv0056.pdf /Jocke :-)

"Optimum Array Processing" by Van Trees is good, have a very well written
chapter 2.

Other than that, try Krim's 1996 paper on array processing or Van Veen's
1988 paper on Beamforming is also good articles. I also like Godara's
1997 paper on antenna array.

Try "Optimum Array Processing" by Van Trees. The best I have seen on
this subject.

Regards,
Vijay.

Check out the book by Burdic, if you can find a copy. Apart from that, this is material usually found in journal articles. Rune

I like Johnson and Dudgeon's "Array Signal Processing: Concepts and Techniques". I don't know if you specifically want sonar applications, but this book mostly covers RF type of array processing, i.e. planar wave assumption. Hope that helps, Julius

Hey Everyone,

Has anyone got any good suggestions on reading material on beam
steering/forming/profiles (not sure what the correct term is)? I&#4294967295;m trying
to implement simple algorithms in matlab and the results aren&#4294967295;t looking as
expected (even for delay and sum techniques). I&#4294967295;m using Sonar Signal
Processing by Richard O. Nielsen at the moment, but having no joy! I
don&#4294967295;t seem able to generate the results he shows in his text. All
suggestions welcome!

Thanks,
matque
