Yes it is possible to connect to the DSP on DM6446 directly using JTAG.
You have to sure that the ARM don't hold the DSP in reset state.
you can do that by simple code in gel file or by setting the DSP to non
boot mode.
you can download ICEPICK JTAG configuration from spectrum digital web
site.
