If you are having trouble understanding radix 4 FFT, I'd suggest going
back to radix 2 and understanding it fully - why is it called radix 2?
If you understand the "radix 2" part of the radix 2 FFT, you should
have no trouble understanding radix 4. See Oppenheim & Schafer
("Discrete Time Signal Processing")...
