I do not have any experience with the DM642 driver,
but...
Sheldon has provided hardware and software for TI
floating point products [3x and 67xx] for some time.
They are not a "driver company", but they develop
drivers for their own hardware [meaning that they
work]. I would not hesitate to spend 200 $US for a
working driver [with source code] for the DM642, if I
needed one.
