Connect 2 ADSP boards to only 1 PC

Started by Hany Ferdinando March 18, 2003
Hi all, I would like to know if I can connect 2 ADSP board (mine is 21992) to 1 PC
only. My PC has 2 USB ports and I use VisualDSP++ 3.0. If someone has
experiences in this arrangement, please share it to me soon.

I will use VisualDSP++ not only to write, compile and download the code, but
also to monitor internal register on those boards.

I am looking forward to hearing from you all, thanks a lot regards,

It *might* be possible to daisy-chain the JTAG from one board to the other.
You'll need to look at the schematics for the eval boards. The USB
connection on my Blackfin ezkit is really a small ICE in the corner of the
board. There's a JTAG header where one can connect a regular JTAG ICE. But
the on-board ICE may be able to drive out through that connector, so that
it could be used to control another CPU. You'd need to arrange for the TDI
and TDO pins to get daisy-chained, and that might require some
cut-and-jumpering on the two boards.

Be sure you understand how JTAG chains work before you attempt this.
