Please refer to the chapter-10 of ADSP-21065L User Manual.
The minimum size supported for SDRAM is 16 MBytes.
If you use any size less than 16 MBytes (as you seem to be currently asking),
you will not be able to use some of the address ranges of SDRAM - because these
address ranges will be aliased to some other address ranges.
For example with 8MByte SDRAM (as you are asking),
(1) remaining 8 MByte will be unusable.
(2) The unusable memory section will not be contiguous (there will be smaller
aliased blocks). for exact address ranges of aliased blocks, you will have to do
some calculations based on address space specified in the chapter-10.
(3) You can however manage with this SDRAM without any hardware changes. All you
need to do is to configure LDF file not to use any of the aliased address
blocks.
(4) With new configuration you may be in trouble, if your application requires
contiguous external memory of 8 MBytes.
