Tcp/ip trace example in visualdsp 5.0 doesn't work

Started by mihaiboamba January 27, 2009
hi!
i am a newbee in dsp, and i have an emergency:

at school, i have to test the tcp/ip trace example in visualdsp 5.0 on
a bf 537 ez kit board.

i tried to conect the pc vith the board with an ethernet cable via a
switch with dhcp server included, and it doesn't work. it gives the
message "Waiting for the link to be established".
i tried to use a crossaver ethernet cable and i still receive the same
error.

i tried to use a straight ethernet cable to conect directly the pc and
the board and i received the mesage: "PHY Controller has failed and the
board needs power cycled"

please help me. i only have 3 or 4 days to do this and i really don't
know what to do.
can u explain me what to do step by step(for a begginer)?
thank u!
Have you checked in the sample code to see if it is configured with a
staqtic address or with DHCP ?
Also a direct connection to PC require a crossover cable. Compare the
IP address of the sample code and the PC. They must be in the same subnet
