multiple audio codec interface to ADSP 21065L

Started by Unknown October 14, 2001
hi guys, just recently heard about this ADSP egroups,
and was kinda hoping if anyone here could help me. i
am currently undertaking a project upon which i would
interface 4 stereo audio codecs to an ADSP 21065L EZ
Kit Lite board through its serial ports. i was
wondering if anyone of you could give me a hand on the
parts list i would be needing for this project. I
would be using the same components that make up the
on-board single audio codec. unfortunately, i don't
know the manufacturer's number of the parts in this
board. more specifically the 3.3V to 5V voltage level
converter as well as the 24.5?? MHz clock. well,
since i am here already, i would also wish that could
you include me in this egroups so i could have updates
as well on other applications for the ADSPs. thanks.

The user manual of the 21065 EZLab contains a schematic and a parts list:

f

The audio codec is a AD1819A and they use a 74LCX125 for the lines from the
codec
to the Sharc.

We showed a prototype at the Sharc Conference in Sept of a board that does
this application exactly. It has 4 AC-97 codecs and interfaces directly to
many of the ADI EZ-Kit Lites including the 21065L. We use an ADI 2186M to
communicate with each codec. The DSP on the EZ-Kit communicates directly
with Sport0 on the 2186M in a 16bit or 24 bit TDM format. This is much
easier than interfacing AC-97 codecs directly.
