What happened to NCT's "Adaptive Speech Filter"

Started by g6ge...@amsat.org May 26, 2009
I need a fast track method to implement a wind and road noise filter on a SHARC based custom two-way radio audio interface. I have an embedded background, but my DSP experience is limited to implementing simple filters using the Analog Devices library. Because of this, I believe my best option would be to use a commercially available algorithm.

I've had very promising results with the PC based demo of "Adaptive Speech Filter" from NCT, (http://www.nctclearspeech.com). The source code for this algorithm is said to be available for the SHARC; however, I fear that NCT is no longer trading. Despite their website appearing to be live, I’ve had no luck contacting them via any of their published channels.
Does anyone know if NCT are still trading, and if not, is their ASF algorithm available from another vendor?

If all else fails, I've had reasonable results using the denoise preprecessor from the open source Speex codec, (also tested on a PC), but the prospect of porting this to the SHARC fills me with dread. Does anyone know of a SHARC Speex port?

Regards,
Dave
