Reg TMS320F28xx processors in safety applications

Started by gopalakrishnan vishal anand June 12, 2008
Hi All,

We are currently using TMS320F2808 processor in an application which is critical to safety. We have to make sure that the application residing in the DSP will not cause a safety hazard to the user. To meet that end, we are supposed to do a lot of periodic self-tests (like GALPAT, reciprocal comparisons etc.) to check the integrity of the memory, clock, program execution etc. If any of you have prior experience in doing this for the TI family of processors, please let me know.

Thanks,
Vishal

using the watch-dog of the processor is one of the first steps that i would think of in terms of safety mechanism.
