Hi, I am working on TMS320C3x DSK for developing laboratory experiments for undergraduate students. The problem is I am not able get Code Explorer kernel from anywhere as this software by GO-DSP is no more available for download. Although Texas Instruments site says this software is available for free download, I am not able to find the download link or location for the software. I will be really thankful if you help me getting this kernel!! -Ninad Thakoor |

Hi Ninad,
I'm in the same situation of You. Take a look at the link of TI: http://focus.ti.com/docs/tool/toolfolder.jhtml?PartNumber=TMDS3200031 (Select Code Explorer Debugger) I tried many times to download it, but failed. I think there's a problem on the page. Please tell me if You can download and install it. Best regards, S.- ----- Original Message ----- From: Ninad Thakoor <> To: <> Sent: Thursday, March 14, 2002 11:38 AM Subject: [c3x] Code Explorer communication kernel | Hi, | | I am working on TMS320C3x DSK for developing laboratory experiments for undergraduate students. Hi all Then I guess I can stop looking for it, and download it myself for archival purposes. I will see about getting it posted to the FTP site, but I doubt it will get past the TI Internet Gestapo. They wont allow anything to be put on the FTP site that is not currently supported, even for archival purposes. BTW, it sounds like a few of you might be interested in the new Windows based tools and demos for the DSK. The FFT/OScilloscope DEMO has been finished for a long time and the new debugger /application interface is to the point where it needs some alpha abuse. If interested, let me know and I will send you the latest source and exe's. BTW, the older tools and demos have been upgraded as well. Some new highlights include - COFF C/ASM source tracking. Older DSK3D versions supported HLL tracking but this is a bit more advanced. - Call stack visablity of variables on the stack This is a memory window that starts at current frame pointer and regresses downward to show the named values on stack as they were pushed on with each frame shown in a different color. - Global variable visablity. Also a memory window with symbols shown but starting at .bss - Graphing: Graphical breakpoints can be defined in the application indicating to the debugger that when one is encountered it should update the graphing window. A few other locations are then used to tell the debugger what type of data, where and how long, as well as how to scale the screen. These locations can be modified by the running application to create an interactive display. - Application control buttons. They act like up/down buttons when you click on the left or right but will also open up a dialog box when you click in the middle. The values you see are those that are read from the target. When you update these values they are downloaded to the application. A lot of ways to use them! - Integrated command and watch window - Patch assembly - A single DLL containing embedded DSK control, file load and conversion, assembly, disassembly, expression analysis, symbol lookup and more. - Integrated editor (this needs some work) - Build control (this needs the most work) Best regards, Keith Larson Well I think that its no more available on these links.I downlaoded it from University of Washington's site. Now that site requires a password as well.I have kept that at: http://briefcase.yahoo.com/husnainalam Anybody can go and get that.Plus did anyone in this group using TIGER31/PC from DSP Research?????
