TMS320C6713 HSRTDX

Started by danisade June 2, 2008
hi i use hsrtds i reached speed of 1 mbytes/sec
in the TMS320C6713 dsk
after i take out board i reach speed only of 0.5 mbytes per sec
i was wondering what is the reason
the gel files almost the same.
i tried to change the buffer size in host and in dsp and the meseege
size sent i did not reach improvment.
what i can do

What do you mean "take out" board? You can't use HSRTDX without the board.

First, please post to the group, not to me.

So what you're saying is that HSRTDX for your C6713 board is slow compared to DSK
C6713 board? If so, my guess would be that your board's JTAG circuit design is not
as good, so the emulator was forced to choose a lower TCK (JTAG clock) rate.

I think that Jeff is correct.
1. You can run xdsprobe with the '-d' option [it will take a few minutes,
but it is worth it] on each board to get an idea of the frequency
differences.
2. The distance from the JTAG connector to the DSP is the probable culprit
[I assume that the DSPs are running at similar frequencies].
3. The actual trace lengths and 'routing quality' can be a problem
[sometimes autorouters can create a long path between two close points].
4. Observe the JTAG signal quality while running xdsprobe with the '-g -c'
options.

These steps should take you to the root cause of your problem.
