C6x stack

Started by Lars Skade November 7, 2000
Hi,
Does anyone know why the C6x stack is filled with 0x00COFFEE?
Is it actually used for anything?, i.e. does it have to be filled with that
word?
Cheers,
Lars

That is how TI maximized the performance of the C6x chips. They tried
0xABADABA but the Flintstones threatened to sue over trademark
infringement. They could have used 0xDEADBEEF but you know how that
type of meal makes you feel sluggish.

Seriously, what version of code composer studio are you using? Check your
.cmd file to see if you have the "-f" fill option set. Are you writing in
assembly?
