XDS510PP emulation problem under CCS V2.20 for 6711

Started by aporaria September 22, 2003
I have designed a board around TI's C6711. I am trying to perform
emulation under CCS 2.20 using
the spectrum's XDS510PP emulation POD.
The "SDConfig" finds and passes the Jtag chain with results like:

** Emulator Test **
$$ EmuProductName=XDS510PP
$$ EmuPortAddr=0x378
$$ EmuPortMode=SPP8
$$ ProductId
$$ ProductVersion
** Emulator Scan Test
-- Found JTAG IR length of 46
-- Found 1 JTAG device(s) in the scan chain
The CCS however, fails every time usually with the message:

..Can't Initialize Target CPU
..ERROR 0x80000200/-118
..Fatal Error during: OCS,
..This error was generated by TI's USCIF driver.
..SC_ERR_CTL_PORT <118>
as if CCS can not find the POD in that particular location (0x378)
or access parallel port at 0x378.

and sometimes, if I change the driver I get a memory access error
under win2K, and CCS crashes.

I have searched the archives and know there have been problems
reported similar to mine and tried
a some of solutions offered, but nothing seems to make a difference.

Could it be an OS + driver issue?
Any ideas?

Something is incorrectly configured in cc_setup.  The error message that you are seeing indicates that you have most likely selected a TI driver instead of an SD driver.
